This may have been answered already but many of the videos I like to watch on YouTube are displaying "Unable to play this Video! Error: Message from YouTube video cannot be played in the embedded player". Is this an issue that has to be resolved by the up-loader to deselect "YouTube pages only viewing?"
FYI...You are limited to only 200 photos using a free Flickr account. You need to upgrade to a Flickr Pro account (currently $24.95/year) if you want to display more than 200 photos.
Trying to get the FB app going as well. NOBODY at cust service knows how to do it. Got my TV yesterday and think about returning it already. Very disappointed.
how do I get the code for facebook?
1. Get your activation code..
Follow the instructions on your device to get the Facebook device activation code.
2. Enter the code and click "Connect"..
Follow the instructions on the resulting dialog to grant permissions to the application.
3. You're done!.
Your device is now connected with Facebook and ready to use.
HELP
The reason that this widget is not available on the Sony dash is that Sony has an exclusive arrangement with another weather provider, and that arrangement prevents other weather widgets from being offered.
Is there a possibility that a beta version of Google Reader could be in the works for the Beta Chumby One Control Panel which I am told has AS3 support?
Yup! Like the rest of us it hasn't worked for quite some time. And no effort seems to be taking place to fix it either. I have two other apps in the same boat---long not working and not being fixed. I have a bad feeling about the future of Chumby.
Still not working! Displays "Unable to load deals" all the time. And I second the comment about not giving us the "San Gabriel Valley" deals, as "LA" is a bigggg place. I'm getting a bad feeling about Chumby in general, as I have two other apps that are broken and not being fixed.
Seems to work well. One thing, can't seem to figure out how to have the chumby shuffle the photos within a playlist. It will only do the same order every time for me. Suggestions?
Hey everybody, sorry this widget is having problems. This takes its data from NOAA, let me send out a few emails and see if I can't get it back on track. Thanks for the patience and the kind words.
Same here!!!! What is happening to our favorite app. I love this app and now we are stuck on cloudy and 36F and has been for a while. :( please fix!!!!!
still running or what?im a newbie so cant get this working, got this orb on my pc where the webcam is on,chumpy one just keep loading and says wrong login/password.any help?
piece of crap. first you have to know tech support to even get it running .. then it wont stay connected. Trust me all my output wireless is top notch. if you want a good alarm clock this is for you. otherwise over rated. bought tonight at best buy spent too long getting it up and running . Taking it right back tomorrow. Besides the fact of the customer support on the website re : connection : not even the courtesy to respond to everyone. No customer service. Where is the value here. Surely they are making the money to atleast act like they are supportive. Even if it did work top notch just for that I am taking it back and telling everyone to not purchase anything from this company. Our country may be in hard times for all but atleast keep your pride and value. Something alot lack these days. BE different than the rest.
Frustrated in Florida ! Thank me for shopping I am not coming back. No tools missing out of this shed!
Ooops, I meant it's showing 47F and raining. Weather.com says that it's 4F right now. I have tried many different local zip codes and nothing seems to change that.
Trying to set the offset time to +45 and it won't stay. I can change the titles of the clocks though. Hope the bug fix makes this work, I'm looking forward to it.
Really like this clock. I have a couple of suggestions. First, the white rings around the buttons are kind of bright. Maybe you could make them a lighter grey color? Second, is there any chance you can add 24 hour clock support?
Just suggestions. Great work.
I'm wondering if there is a way for this to only show the status of a single line between certain times, and only if there is a problem. I.e. from 6am to 9am - if there is a delay on the metropolitan line, then pop up a status screen. If not, continue running other apps (which in my case is the Flickr widget scrolling photos).
Basically show me if there is a problem before I go to work - otherwise, show me something more interesting :-)
@andreachrista: Why do you think this is a fake? I made it for my own need ans use it every day at my office desk. I know it needs some more development time, therefore I call it beta, but it works.
Did something change with this widget? It looks like I can no longer "BEER ME" and it no longer displays the ratings for each bear. Just wondering if these are just some changes being experimented with, or if it's some kind of malfunction.
Hi andtheand2 the message yiu mention is general. Not sure what chumby you have but this app was built for the classic. I dont have or tested any others so cant really help. I dont really support chumby apps any more as am quite disappointed with chumby ind. They promise lots and deliver little. cheers Nigel
Thanks for this app, finally someone used the entire screen for a clock. I can see it without my glasses. If by chance you read this would it be hard to make a blue option? It's a bit bright at night even on the dimmest setting. Thanks for your efforts, really appreciated.
I can not find this information anywhere. I have two Chumby's on the same network and from time to time one or the other's Built in Clock colon (:) blinks. Why?
@jdavid_anderson - With the current CP (5.0.35) it is not possible to disable the browser controls overlay that is shown on page reloads. This is something that is outside the control of this app so a new CP will need to be released, should this be addressed. We'll try to get something in to facilitate such a preference in a persistent manner - perhaps a button on the geek panel and/or perhaps a /psp config file...
I see that the latest version of this app loads a info screen thingy at the top when the page is loading. It is nice to have a touch keyboard option, but is there any way to turn that info screen off. My web page reloads every 30 seconds and I prefer that it doesnt have that on the top each time it reloads. It used to not have it. Is there a way to disable that ?
Thanks
Dave
@chumzter: Thanks for your reply back on Aug 15th, and I read it then. That answered my question immediately. I had no idea that Sony disallowed relatively innocuous apps such as these.
The real reason for my follow-up at this late date though, is: As of today, the Sony Dash is allowing the running of this app! Hooray!
hi nigel, first of all, thanks a lot for all the work! I've tried to installed the script and widget as you described it, but it seems not working. When I start the widegt I always get the message "this widget requires a script to be installed..." Does this mean, that the installation of the script didn't worked? Or is this just a standard message? Perhaps there is a way to check on the chumby if the script is installed...
Hi, this is my hands down favorite chumby time app. simple and brilliant. I use it to the exclusion of almost all my other clock apps and have set a channel just for this app to compensate for the faulty "stay" pin feature which goes away and lets other clock apps back on! Thanks for the app.
I am using this app to view a family calendar on my chumby. Unfortunately it doesn't know anything about "Umlaute" like "ÜüÖöÄäß".
My native language is German, but this issue may occur in most non English languages which are used in Europe.
Besides this, great app.
Thank-you both for providing that suggestion. I've added the SI speed units to the configuration dialog. If your chumby (classic, one) hasn't rebooted in the last few days, I recommend you do so now to download the latest control panel software. You should certainly do this if the new WWO release fails to load!
I was unable to test.
Can you configure a manual URL or add additional camera types ( ie FOSCAM) ?
The other chumby app ( WEB URL ) is no longer supported by its author and the app does not work on chumby 8
tyvm
Thank you everyone for your feedback.
I just realized that I need to rewrite from scratch for older chumby devices as they don't use AS3 syntax. Since I am not a programmer and only just learning this Flash thing, this might take a while but I'll work on it.
As for a seperate VOL slider, I haven't been able to figure out how to program that. My original app had one, but it didn't do anything. A workaround, which is how I use the chumby, is to set up a "wakeup" channel with an app that has music or whatever it is you want to wake up to.
The non-working swfs have been removed to avoid confusion.
This widget was momentarily withdrawn for a few reasons. There were a couple of problems with the chumby software recently. The WWO website changed its location codes and search result format. I wanted to implement local caching of weather data. This widget now loads the saved information much faster.
Would it be possible to put a volume control on the app itself? This would allow the sleep sounds to be quieter while the alarm could retain whatever volume you desired. Thank you so much for your work on this! God Bless!
Hello,
Now that Picasa uses Google+ to share photos, the URL has changed to a new format that this app won't work with. It is now in the format of (sample): https://plus.google.com/photos/111112233456778/albums/12345678?authkey=zrxdtfcygvubhijn
Instead of http://picasaweb.google.com
Now I get this error when pasting the above URL (real version, not sample): Please enter a valid Picasa Web Album URL.
