The latest satellite images of Australia from the Bureau of Meteorology (via the satellite of the Japanese Meteorological Agency). Also shows the current temperature in the capitals. The forecast functionality is currently broken, sorry!

The forecast information for the capital cities has stopped working over the last week or so, ie when you touch the current temperature for a city, it only says "asdf".

Good suggestions. I will add some configuration options. I will do some testing to track down that bug (I have not noticed that happening).

Great work on the widget! Currently it seems to have a small bug; right now on my chumby it is cycling between the black instruction screen and the radar map approximately once a second. It wasn't doing that when I first added it - it would show the instructions once when the widget started and that was it. Also if you're looking at extending it further, it would be really great to have an option to show current temp and forecast temp for just ONE (configurably) city, overlaid on the map all the time (so you don't have to touch the screen to see the forecast) Also an option to show the time in the top corner would be nice as well.

I just added forecast information for the capital cities. Just touch the current temperature for that city to display it. Sorry for the average formatting - that is how the BOM sends it to me.

thinkquick - great work on the animation. I'd had my Chumby turned off for a few days, and when I turned it back on today I was greeted with moving images! Thank you! :D

Looks excellent! If you're looking for feature suggestions, could I suggest a current temperature (for the nearest capital city) overlay? I'd love to see a local radar with the current temperature clearly readable. Thanks!

I am working on an animated version at the moment. There are so many other maps and so much information available that it is going to be hard to decide what to do next.

This looks great - I'd love it if there was a way to just show one state though. I'm not sure if that would be better as an option, or a separate widget, hmm. (...and animation's always good, please!)
