@lvmykyds I was able to get this working with my AOL account using the following settings. Incoming mail server name: pop.aol.com Port: 995 Username: (Your AOL username, everything BEFORE the "@aol.com") Password: (Your AOL Password) The first time I loaded this up, I had to pin the widget as it took almost five minutes to load the entire inbox, after that it was much faster.

I love my Infocast and would love it even more if I could check my Yahoo and Hotmail msgs. These products are fantastic but the companies behind them aren't helping their customers.

Chumby how about replying to the email also, instead of just viewing them

One more vote for SSL encryption support for the e-mail widget. This is necessary for MS Hotmail/Live Mail.

My mail server requires an SSL connection. This doesn't seem to be supported or is there some way to enable that? Or is there a similar widget that supports SSL?

So, WHEN are we going to get an IMAP version? It's not like it's major work chaps !!!

After I contacted them, the powers that be made a few more changes to the widget and it resolved my problem; I now get the messages displayed. Since I also have cox maybe it was related to that particular internet provider.

This was working well for me before the update - but now I get signed in and page display says 1/2, but no messages displayed.

I have AOL and have tried to access my e-mail from my Chumby-one. I need to know what server to put in and which port to list. thanks

It shows my Yahoo messages, but it shows (what I think is) all the HTML markup as well, making messages so difficult to read as to be more or less useless.

I customize my Chumby to read my Hotmail messages. It did it one time and since then, the Chumby no longer works with my hotmail account. The folks at Chumby need to look at this.

Always get an "error opening mailbox". Since there is no option to configure the connection type (like SSL) and port I assume that's the reason.

Wow, looks like someone fixed this overnight. The error is gone and now receiving domain mail just fine. Thanks! :)

What about gmail domain name support? Please add this. It should be a simple matter of parsing the login for an @ sign and not adding gmail.com in that case. 5 min hack... ;) Thanks!

POP widgets are a very bad idea. At best, your mail password is stored (in clear text) at chumby.com At worst, an undisclosed third party (not covered by Chumby's privacy policy) operating the server back-end to your widget has your credentials. Very bad idea...

suzi9874, It's a POP3 reader and will not support IMAP servers.

Contact Customer support if you're having issues. They will help you get it working.

I think it fails it fails on Gmail because gmail requires secure POP authentication.

I use this widget a lot and it's great, but it would be so much better if it would display more than the last 5 messages and could display the text of HTML messages. Plus it's quite unstable, and opening a message regularly crashes my Chumby. Please, keep working on it to make it better and more reliable!

tonygill99

The new message body viewer is a HUGE improvement! Next, how about adding a scroll bar to the inbox, to allow the display of more than the last 5 messages?
