For those who have problems getting this widget to display images from your gallery2 installation the problem likely is that your g2 image files are too large. I have created an alternative method to display random gallery2 images using a small php script and the ImageURL widget. You can read about it here: http://forum.chumby.com/viewtopic.php?pid=27823#p27823

very handy widget! this link: http://wiki.chumby.com/mediawiki/index.php/Chumby_Tutorials#Creating_a_crossdomain.xml_File describes the creation of a crossdomain.xml file that must be placed in the webserver hosting the gallery's root. Has a couple of neat features that the "original" gallery widget does not (specifying the time to spend on each image, for example.)

It does not seem to stay in the album and sub-albums I specified. It selects images from the entire Gallery2 site.
