Streams was created with one idea in mind; to establish a shared stream sources library, with community interaction. It's another resource for music discovery, and a way to get to know the music of the Chumby community as well. Currently there is no other way to create a "built-in" streaming music source without USB drives, and other messy business. This is my best attempt at overcoming that limitation, as well as providing a way to share musical tastes with other Chumbians. Submit sources, and get usage information at streams.gochumby.com. Ideas and feature suggestions highly encouraged (donate).

This is a great widget. The issues around streaming music don't relate to the technology (chumby can stream) but how to find good content. The best model is where humans decide e.g. Google search, digg, twitter etc. This woidget does just that - when I select a station I know that somebody thinks its good and often they are right. Well done done !

Are you able to share/view community sources with other Chumbians from your MyStreams panel? Does your MyStreams panel offer you new listening options for music discovery when you boot it up? Can you get an idea of who is listening, vote for streams, and share them with others, as well as any other fun features that may come up? (some features coming soon ;p). If so, I would be interested in how you do that without building some type of custom music source, which would then have to be installed on a USB drive (which not everyone is willing/knows how to do - let alone distribution of said file). I think perhaps you may have not quite understood what the purpose of this widget is. But thank you for your comments none the less. :)

You don't need a usb drive to use the "My Streams" thing in the control panel, which is exactly like this.
