would be nice to cycle through random cameras, or cameras within 100 miles of my zip code

I certainly see what the site is trying to accomplish. Although I am little conerned with the name 'Weather Underground'. Was that not the name of a domestic terrorist group in the '70's?

Hi, I am trying to connect to the Yosemite cam WunderYakuza Channel 4. I keep getting an error on my chumby one. I also tried other cams - same result - only errors. Looks like this app has a major problem or am I doing something wrong? Chris

bdmillan - I have tested Pierboy and 1 - and it works fine. Are you using the capitilisation when entering the data? Twilightandstars - Brevins and 4 - works on my chumby. Have you tried other cameras?

The webcam seems to work just fine in a browser on my laptop, but for some reason is only bringing up an error screen on my chumby. I've used the camera name and channel number exactly as they are in the URL.

When i use Brevins and 4 - it works fine. Make sure you are entering it exactly as it is in the URL - ie with a capital B for Brevins.

The configuration instructions tell me what the camera name and channel are supposed to be, but I'm getting nothing but errors. I'm trying to watch , so I'm using Brevins as the camera name and channel 4. It would also be nice to get a feed from Timberline Lodge or Government Camp (Oregon DOT cameras?), but one step at a time, I suppose? :)

Hi obhchum. That's what I am working on at the moment. I already have my (yet unreleased) Traffic Camera widget that I am going to borrow the code from to get static images in here - but I just need the time to do it. Hopefully over the weekend. Troy

Would it be possible to have it display the current static image only if the time-lapse is not available? It also looks like the previous days' time-lapse images are available, just not the current day. Perhaps they are having trouble keeping up with the "real time" time-lapse compiling?

This widget displays the 24hour time lapse video. So, to test the video in your browser - you would go to http://www.wunderground.com/webcams/oliverb/1/video.html?month=01&year=2010&filename=current.flv Which - unfortunately is still broken. I am going to modify the widget so that it displays the static image until Weather Underground are able to fix their video feeds. I will update comments when the new version is released. Troy

Weather Undergound is currently experiencing issues with their 24Hour time-lapse videos. As such, this widget has nothing to display, and will display an error - even for valid camera's. I will post another comment when Weather Underground is back online. Cheers, Troy

Aunt Gargot - you are more then welcome. I have added a small help screen to the configuration screen here in chumby.com as well. Cheers for the feedback, and have a great 2010. Troy

Hi troykelly, THANK YOU! It worked. It is very cool. I had no idea that I would even be able to see the feed time-lapsed over 24 hours(?!) Thank you for responding. Now I (and others) know how to add new web cams to the chumby from the site. Happy New Year and thanks for creating the widget.

Hi Aunt Gargot, in your case the camera username would be HDSteve and the channel would be 1. Remember - capitalisation is very important.

trokelly - thank you for your kind offer: http://www.wunderground.com/webcams/HDSteve/1/show.html If you go to Burning Man, you know Sparks, Nevada!

Aunt Gargot - what's the URL for the cam you wish to watch? I will test it for you.

From the url /webcams/Pierboy/1/show.html Just grab "Pierboy" as the webcam and "1" as the channel. I know it's a bit complex, and I would love some other ideas on how to add the camera's.

I have gone to the Weather Underground page and found camera feeds I would like to watch on my chumby. I have added the camera username from the feed and kept the camera channel to 1. I am told that the feed does not work. Please advise. Thank you.
