i would like to point the widget directly to some videos i want to see (better so: to my favorites onYoutube). To allow a link to a single youtube video would be a first step.

You can use the uvlayer widget to put Youtube videos and Flickr images that you choose onto your chumby. Check out it out, watch the video to see how it works. http://uvlayer.com/demo/chumby/

Would be great if you can search for videos you actually want to see. Can you work on this?

i have this widget so if u experience choppyness then just enter the controll panle then leave, that should clear it up 4 the rest of the vid, after about 2 weeks it should clear up all together. worked 4 me, if u want it 2 stop changing in the middle of the videos the hit stay on the controll panel,

Works fine for me, only thing i don't like (might have over looked it) is you can't watch what you want, you gotta watch the 10 or so "selections" - no search (of coarse) but worse you can't even subscribe online through the gatekeeper=chumby and set it up ahead of time. Didn't someone say something about open source? lol.

Real Choppy. Seems pointless unless it is your only widget... it will change mid-clip. I like the idea - needs work.

I'd like to be able to customize a list for playing only certain videos, or some people I subscribe to videos. I really hope someone updates it and adds the features if possible. Long Live Chumby!

This widget shows promise but the audio playback is choppy on my (ironforge) Chumby. Not sure if it is the widget or the Chumby. Either way, I don't end up watching videos that often. It would also be nice if you could watch videos belonging to a youtube RSS feed or keyword.

Skips indefinately and is completely worthless as of now. The framerate and sound skips so bad I cannot watch any videos well, I am only 10-15ft away from my wireless router and if you are watching a longer video if the timing isnt set it will just change widgets abruptly with the only indication the small loading icon in the left hand corner. Also not being able to choose many of the videos doesn't add but hopefully this will be fixed somehow!!

Skipped horribly the only time I tried it.

Nice, but how customizable? Does it pull randomly? Could it be 'kid-safe'?
