Doesn't appear on the new Chumby (Chumby 8). I have it in my channel but it will not show up on the actual device.

Hrmm. Maybe try the java version instead of the native Windows server? I think I would need to make some adjustments for Win7.

Have problems using the server under Win7/64bit. First song is playing well, but as soon as I start using the navigation buttons on my chumby, the server crahses immediantly...any ideas?

This app is not working for me and I'm pretty sure I did everything correctly with downloading the software, etc....am I missing something?

Ahh, that explains it. Well thanks for promoting the widget to Sony. Everyone keep in mind it requires a small server application running on the same computer as iTunes (http://tinyurl.com/chumbiTunes) to translate iTunes-babble to chumby-speak.

Sony white lists the apps they want to run on the Dash. Chumby Industries has no control over which apps they want to make available. But we'll definitely inform Sony that there's a demand for this app to be available for the Dash.

Hello! I didn't know this widget didn't run on the Sony Dash. Could you PM me and let me know what the problem seems to be?

Any thoughts on getting this awesome app to run on the Sony Dash?

Why do you need to run the server? Why not just connect like the iPhone "Remote" application does directly to iTunes?

Hello sknorton, This widget should be working on your Chumby provided you have configured it correctly. In fact, I am using it right now :) If you are having issues, would you please elaborate on the Forum thread located here and I would be happy to help you set it up. http://forum.chumby.com/viewtopic.php?id=3707

This widget rocks. Super easy setup, and it works like a charm. Got a free Chumby and I love it already...

Neat, but is there any way we can get an app (or expand this app) to make Chumby work as a remote speaker for ITunes?

Easy to setup and use. Awesome!

I am trying to install chumbitunes-itunes remote and am having problems with the install on my laptop. The first part of the install worked fine, however I am receiving an error message on the second part of the install, the chumbyitunesserver file. The error message is as follows: "Cannot start application": "Cannot download the application. The application is missing required files. Contact application vendor for assistance." The error box as an ok button and a details button which creates a notepad file with a technical readout of the problem.

Thanks for the link to the forum, I was using the Chumby iTunes Server address and not my computer's IP address. Thanks!

BTW, for tech support, it would be easier to discuss on the forum post here: http://forum.chumby.com/viewtopic.php?id=3707

First thing that comes to mind is to check your firewall. Second, I wonder if you have multiple-network adapters on your PC. I will update the PC software this weekend to help facilitate finding server IP as well a self-diagnostic feature to ensure that the server is running and ready for chumbies to connect.

I can't get it to connect to the server either, but the Chumby iTunes server is running and the server settings are right. Any ideas?

You can find the free Mac ChumbiTunes Server here: http://shamurai.com/bin/chumbiTunes/

lseland, you will see this screen if your chumby cannot find a chumbiTunes server (free Windows version or the mac Signal Server). The chumby cannot talk directly to iTunes right now. For more information on how to setup a server, visit this link: http://tinyurl.com/chumbiTunes

Should the "connecting to server" screen be up for long? I can't seem to get past it.

  • jforsythe

Kagudesu, I don't have a free Mac server available. However, if you purchase and install Signal Server from http://www.alloysoft.com, use the "Advanced" profile in the chumby widget and it will work as McConnell's does.

@kagudesu, I'm running iTunes on a mac. You can use the Signal Server from these guys ... http://www.alloysoft.com/

A breeze to get set up. Been hoping for something like this since I first got my Chumby!
