motion sensor

Your chumby has a "motion sensor" (or "accelerometer"). When you pick up your chumby and move it around, the motion sensor detects the direction and speed of movement.

motion and apps

Some of the apps take advantage of the motion sensor. If you'd like to see a fun example, try the Chumball app in the Games category. Because apps are constantly being added, we don't have a list of all apps that utilize the motion sensor. If an app does incorporate it, the author of the app will tell you how to make use of it.

using the top button to advance apps

The motion sensor lets you easily change apps without having to open the control panel. While your app is playing a channel, hold down the top button down.

Advancing app, step 1

Tilt your chumby to the right. You should see a left and right arrow on the screen — the right arrow will be brighter. This means your chumby is advancing to the next app.

Advancing app, step 2

While still holding the top button down, return your chumby to level position. To advance another app, tilt it right again. You can also tilt your chumby to the left to return to the previous app.

Advancing app, step 3

Note: In order for the chumby to advance to the next app, the current app needs to have finished loading.
