chumby one battery use
IMPORTANT: We recommend using only a genuine Fujifilm® NP-120, 3.7V, 1800 mAh battery or other equivalent battery having the same performance and safety features. Use of different batteries may void your warranty and/or result in damage, fire, personal injury or reduced device performance. The battery is not included with the chumby one.
installing a battery
IMPORTANT: The chumby classic is not designed to be used with a battery. These instructions are only for the chumby one.
- Make sure the AC adapter is unplugged from your chumby one.
- Remove the battery door on the bottom and pull out the FM radio antenna.
- Insert a genuine Fujifilm® NP-120 or equivalent battery.
- Put the battery door back on. The FM antenna will need to remain outside of the battery compartment if a battery is inserted.
- Power up your chumby one and it should run off the battery. If the battery has never been charged, please follow the battery manufacturer's instructions on how to properly perform the initial charge.
- If you plug in the AC adapter with a battery installed, you will see a charging symbol over the battery if it's charging. When the battery is fully charged, the charging symbol will no longer appear.
how long will the battery last?
The battery will run on a full charge for about one hour. This could be longer or shorter depending on the level of resources being used. For example, the battery will probably last longer if you're playing apps with the screen significantly dimmed and the audio muted. In contrast, the battery life will be shorter if you're listening to music at full volume with a USB device attached.
To help extend the battery's run time, the screen will dim slightly and music will play at a slightly lower volume.
battery safety
To avoid risk of injury, observe the following when handling your battery:
- Do not disassemble or open, crush, bend or deform, puncture, or shred.
- Do not modify or remanufacture, attempt to insert foreign objects into the battery, immerse or expose to water or other liquids, or expose to fire, explosion, or other hazard.
- Do not short circuit a battery or allow metallic or conductive objects to contact the battery terminals.
- Dispose of used batteries in accordance with local regulations.
- Improper battery use may result in a fire, explosion, or other hazard.
