You can delete the current app (the one shown on the main control panel) from the channel. Before it's deleted, you're shown a warning screen so you have a chance to change your mind.

Be careful deleting apps sent to you from friends — unless it's an app that's publicly available, you won't be able to add it back into a channel. For example, if a friend has forwarded you the CBS News Headline app and you delete it, you can add it back into your channel at anytime since it's publicly available in the News category. But if your friend sent you a non-public app — perhaps a personal creation — there's no way for you to add it back into your channel unless you ask him or her to resend it.
