The Settings screen gives you access to a variety of settings for your chumby. Click on any of the links below to jump to that section.

Info button CHUMBY INFO: The Chumby Info screen shows the following information:

id: This is the chumby ID that's unique to every chumby. Just below that are the latest version numbers for hardware (HW), software (SW) and firmware (FW). HW# is the chumby's unique hardware number.

If you've activated your chumby, you'll see:

registered to: This is the username the chumby was activated under.
chumby name: This is the name you gave this chumby. (You can rename it on my chumby dashboard.)
channel name: This is the channel currently loaded for this chumby.

If you're connected to a network, you'll also see details about your connection. (The MAC address appears even if you're not connected.)

Software License: Shows the GNU General Public License and the GNU Lesser General Public License.

Intro: Plays the opening product tour.

 

Volume buttonVOLUME: Drag the Volume button left to decrease volume and right to increase volume. Drag the Left/Right speaker balance button to move the speaker output towards either side. chumby one owners: Because the chumby one has a single speaker, this slider will only affect balance going to headphones.

BRIGHTNESS:
The Day slider lets you dim the screen; this is ideal for a darkened room where you don't want the screen to be too bright. If you're really sensitive to light when you sleep, use the Night slider to make the Night mode screen even darker. As you drag either slider, you're shown how the screen will look.

Hardware version 3.7 - Choose between Full brightness or Low brightness.

You can find the hardware version of your chumby on the Chumby Info screen.

Set Time/Date buttonTIME/DATE: If your chumby is connected to a network, the Set time from the Internet box will be checked and your chumby will automatically grab the time from the internet. You can uncheck it to manually set the time. Check the 24 hour mode box if you'd prefer to see the time in that format (e.g., "13:00" instead of "1:00 pm").

Set Time button SET TIME: Tap the up or down arrows to set the time (if you're in 24 hour mode, the AM/PM option will not be available). (Note: If the box for Set time from the Internet is checked, this screen will be unavailable.)

Set Date button SET DATE: Tap the up or down arrows to set the date. (Note: If the box for Set time from the Internet is checked, this screen will be unavailable.)

Set Time Zone buttonSET TIME ZONE: Tap anywhere on the map to zoom in on that area (tap the magnifying glass in the lower left corner to zoom out). Select a red dot to see the city's name; if the city's in your time zone, select OK.

Network button NETWORK: You can create a new connection or use one you've previously set up. See connecting to the internet for complete details.

Touchscreen button TOUCHSCREEN: Select this to calibrate the touchscreen. If you make a mistake during the calibration and can't interact with the screen, wait until the first calibration screen reappears and then try again. Touchscreen Tip: For greatest accuracy, use the very tip of your finger or your fingernail (a stylus will also work). Avoid using the full pad of your finger, as the touchscreen works better with more precise input.
