virtual chumby
A virtual chumby is a chumby that plays on any computer, like the one shown on my chumby dashboard. A virtual chumby plays apps like a real chumby — except it's doing it in cyberspace!
Each channel you create can be a virtual chumby. The one difference with the virtual chumby is that it won't show certain apps to protect your privacy. For example, if you have the Facebook Status app loaded on a channel, to prevent strangers from accessing the information in your Facebook account, a placeholder is shown on the virtual chumby instead of the active app. To see the Facebook Status app running, you must view it on your chumby.
Why would I want one?
It adds a fun element to any web page. Let friends and family see what you're into.
If you start out with a virtual chumby and then get a real one, you can load any of the channels you've created for the virtual chumby onto your real chumby.
How do I make one?
- Create an account and log in.
- Go to my channels and create a channel (or use the Default channel) and add the apps you want to see.
- Go to create a virtual chumby and you'll find the channel you created in the dropdown menu under "select a channel."
- Under "choose a size", choose the size you want to use.
- Copy the code and paste it into your website, blog, social networking page, etc.
